چکیده
• Investigation of the directional fatigue behaviour PBF-LM/18Ni300. Proposal a new test methodology for evaluating up- and down-skin fatigue. The is influenced by specimen orientation. Fatigue initiation observed from surfaces. Surfaces metals produced additive manufacturing (AM) are known to be rough populated with defects, this is, in particular, true downward-facing (down-skin) When dealing as-built surfaces AM, typically initiating surface defects. In work, maraging steel grade 300 (18Ni300) laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF-LB) investigated. built both This done using specimens where all machined, except one at interest. Specimens were 10 orientation ranging 0° (horizontal, up-skin) 135° (down-skin). roughness was measured orientations; high found while wavy up-skin correlated build roughness.

Low-Cycle Fatigue Behaviour of AISI 18Ni300 Maraging Steel Produced by Selective Laser Melting
Selective laser melting has received a great deal of attention in recent years. Nevertheless, research has been mainly focused on the technical issues and their relationship with the final microstructure and monotonic properties. Fatigue behaviour has rarely been addressed, and the emphasis has been placed on high-cycle regimes. The aim of this paper is, therefore, to study, in a systematic man...
متن کاملStudy of the Microstructure and Cracking Mechanisms of Hastelloy X Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Hastelloy X (HX) is a Ni-based superalloy which suffers from high crack susceptibility during the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process. In this work, the microstructure of as-built HX samples was rigorously investigated to understand the main mechanisms leading to crack formation. The microstructural features of as-built HX samples consisted of very fine dendrite architectures with dimensions...
متن کاملComparison of Maraging Steel Micro- and Nanostructure Produced Conventionally and by Laser Additive Manufacturing
Maraging steels are used to produce tools by Additive Manufacturing (AM) methods such as Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) and Selective Laser Melting (SLM). Although it is well established that dense parts can be produced by AM, the influence of the AM process on the microstructure-in particular the content of retained and reversed austenite as well as the nanostructure, especially the precipitate ...

Functionalization of Biomedical Ti6Al4V via In Situ Alloying by Cu during Laser Powder Bed Fusion Manufacturing
The modern medical industry successfully utilizes Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) to manufacture complex custom implants. Ti6Al4V is one of the most commonly used biocompatible alloys. In surgery practice, infection at the bone-implant interface is one of the key reasons for implant failure. Therefore, advanced implants with biocompatibility and antibacterial properties are required. Modificatio...
